We’re excited to share that PRECISE has been selected by Baptist Health South Florida for the renovation of a linear accelerator vault at Miami Cancer Institute, Miami, FL.
This challenging project involves renovating an existing vault and control room to prepare for the installation of a Varian Halcyon Treatment System with C-RAD Catalyst. The project scope includes selective demolition, new concrete installations, mechanical and electrical systems, and new interior finishes.
The Varian Halcyon is an advanced linear accelerator used to treat cancer by delivering precise, high-dose radiation to tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. It is designed for speed, efficiency, and patient comfort, featuring a simplified, tunnel-like design, reduced treatment times, and enhanced patient amenities like ambient lighting and quiet operation. Halcyon also incorporates rapid imaging capabilities for accurate patient positioning, accelerating the overall treatment workflow.
The C-RAD Catalyst is a Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) system that tracks patient movement in real time, improving treatment accuracy and safety. Construction is underway and is scheduled for completion in February 2026. This project represents our 10th Varian Halcyon project and 8th linac replacement project for Baptist Health South Florida.
